The previous owners kept racing pigeons, and had a pigeon coop on the hill. They removed the pigeon coop before they moved, leaving a raised wooden walkway that ended in half a deck. The walkway has a pretty tall drop on the downhill side, so we decided it was time to put in a railing and finish the deck.
